The banking industry has a long history of training employees and creating jobs. It is the largest industry in the finance, insurance and real estate sector of the economy, and employs more than 2 million wage and salary workers. And, that figure will only grow. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that employment in the financial services sector will grow by 12.3 percent, adding almost 1 million additional jobs between 2002 and 2012.
